Volunteers Needed for Balsam Pulling

( Last Updated: 20-06-2013 )

It is now the time of the year when we need volunteers to help remove and stack Himalayan Balsam in various locations on the Blackdown Hills AONB.    This is a very invasive weed, and it is spreading rapidly and stops other valuable and important plants from growing.  It needs to be pulled before it seeds.

This is an easy plant to pull  - but there is lots of it - so the more help we can get, the better.

If you can help out - then go to the events section of this site to see when the next Balsam Pulling activity is taking place and where to meet. http://www.blackdownhillsaonb.org.uk/Events-Calendar.html

Activities take place during June, July, August and early September.
