Urgent Help Needed for Butterfly Conservation

( Last Updated: 19-08-2013 )

We are urgently looking for help at Mount Fancy Farm Butterfly reserve this coming Tuesday and Wednesday 20th and 21st, to move the timber stacks from the eastern side of the reserve to the adjacent drove. We have organised a tractor and tipping trailer to come in to collect the timber and transfer it to the edge of the ride outside the reserve gate where we hope a gang of strong people will restack it. After that we can organise for it to be sawn up and taken away for firewood. Where the stacks are at the moment is valuable habitat which we want to allow to recover - the newly cleared areas have been looking fantastic this year. It is important to get it done while the ground is still fairly firm.

Can you help us please? - and/or could you pass this request on to any of your contacts you think might be available and who would enjoy the fresh air and exercise? Even a few hours would be valuable. There should be plenty of logs available once the piles have been moved.

It's probably best to park in the FC carpark at the top of the hill and walk down.

My mobile is 07981 776767 - email me or phone if you can help us - we'll look forward to seeing you soon.
