We are inviting tenders from individuals to co-ordinate an exciting new conservation volunteering project.
The project, which is being run by the AONB team on behalf of the Blackdown Hills Trust, aims to create an online green volunteering hub. The first stage will be to draw together all the opportunities for conservation volunteering offered by local organisations. These will include lots of practical outdoors activities, as well as more varied roles in fundraising, education and promotion.
The next stage will to work with web designers to create of an online hub to promote these opportunities to a wide range of potential volunteers, and to encourage more people to take up green volunteering. These may be people who want to get fit, improve their skills or simply enjoy good company. They could be looking for a regular session, or a one-off event.
The hope is that the project will result in a vibrant online community which links conservation organisations with enthusiastic volunteers and which can sustain itself into the future.
We now invite tenders from suitably experienced, self-employed individuals to co-ordinate the project for a term of two years. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both in person and online, and have experience of the voluntary sector.
It is estimated that this two-year contract will involve 30 - 35 days work in total, weighted towards the early stages of the project.
