The Event: Restoration of ancient woodland in practice **CANCELLED**

Dates: 08 May 16

Location: North of Newtown Farm Bickenhall TA3 6UF

10am - 1pm

*SORRY EVENT CANCELLED*  A guided walk around a Forestry Commission woodland.  We will be looking at the recent works on site and how the woodland might develop in the future.  During the walk woodland management will be explained and discussed, specifically timber harvesting, planting and young tree protection, forest policy and restoration of ancient woodland. 

A reasonable degree of fitness and mobility will be required as the walk will be uneven and potentially muddy.  Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.

 

Cost: Free, booking essential.

Location: Head north from Newtown Farm, Bickenhall, TA3 6UF (map ref: ST 289 176) and look for signs.  Park along Middleroom Drove, accessed from the council road.  Parking will operate on a first in last out basis, so please let us know if you need to leave early.
