A chance to learn the secrets of great nature photography, and a riverside picnic surrounded by wildflowers and are both on offer in the Blackdown Hills this June.
The Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) team is offering two different ways to enjoy the area's renowned wildflowers, which include rare orchids and many other species.
On 12 June there will be a relaxed walk around two rich and varied Somerset Wildlife Trust reserves, led by expert botanist Dr David Allen, with a picnic beside the river Yarty in between.
On 26 June wildlife photographer Dan Bryan joins Dr Allen to offer a double session among the wildflowers at Colliton Moor, near Broadhembury. Participants will spend some time learning about wildflowers in the Blackdown Hills, before using their own cameras to practice taking stunning flower photographs with Dan's guidance.
Places are limited and booking is required for both events. Please call the AONB office on 01823 680681 or email blackdownhills@devon.gov.uk.
