The Event: Meet the neighbours - woodland bird song

Dates: 07 Jun 17

Location: Young Wood, Staple Fitzpaine, Somerset TA3 5AZ

Learn how to recognise the songs of common woodland birds with Rob Grimmond from the Somerset Ornithological Society.

This is part of a project to identify the myriad of wild species around Young Wood, near Staple Fitzpaine. As we explore the woods we’ll be collecting signs of wildlife. These finds will be brought together in a series of ‘collection shrines’ created by artist, Michael Fairfax, to celebrate our woodland wildlife.

The safaris are free and open to anyone with an interest in the subject. Each safari will focus on a different group of species.

This is one of a series of woodland ‘safaris’ run by Neroche Woodlanders as part of Meet the neighbours – a year-long project supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, encouraging people to ‘meet’ and identify Young Wood’s wildlife.

Wednesday 7 June

10am to 1pm
