Latest AONB Volunteering News

( Last Updated: 15-03-2013 )

Get outside, get fit, make friends and help improve and conserve the beautiful habitats of the Blackdown Hills AONB.  Regular volunteering opportunities are offered by the Neroche Conservation Volunteers on the northern part of the Blackdown Hills;  The Wildside Experience near Hemyock and with the National Trust Coombe Wood Conservation Volunteers, near Honiton (this project only takes place between October and March).

If you haven't already done so, you could go to the volunteering events section of this website - where you may find something of interest .

Soon there will be other volunteering opportunities you can get involved with that only take place during Spring, Summer and Autumn including:

•·        The Blackdown Hills Big Bat Survey

•·        Butterfly and moth survey work with Butterfly Conservation

•·        Various task groups working along the Rivers Axe and the Otter to pull up and control the very invasive plant Himalayan Balsam

So it is a good idea to check this website regularly for updates and news.
