Job opportunity – Blackdown Hills AONB Manager

Are you ready for this fantastic opportunity to lead the work of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)? We are currently seeking a new Manager for Blackdown Hills AONB.

The Blackdown Hills AONB team and partnership work jointly to make the most of the stunning landscape, special qualities and wonderful opportunities that the AONB offers.

We are committed to the conservation and enhancement of the Blackdown Hills’ natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage. We encourage people to enjoy and understand the area, and work with local communities and partners. 

We are looking for a manager with outstanding leadership qualities, who can engage staff, partners, organisations and communities and inspire them all to deliver for the Blackdown Hills AONB.

You will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of innovation, influence and delivery within the conservation or wider environmental sector. As well as exceptional communication skills, you will have a sound financial and business acumen, experience in income generation, be politically astute and adept at building strong partnerships and working relationships. 

The Blackdown Hills AONB team is based in Hemyock, Devon, and hosted by Devon County Council. The Partnership is funded by Defra, Devon and Somerset County Councils, East Devon, Mid Devon and South Somerset District Councils and Taunton Deane Borough Council.
