February half term fun in the Blackdown Hills AONB

( Last Updated: 18-01-2012 )

Families can step back to the Iron Age, or learn how to create a haven for birds at two events in the Blackdown Hills this half term.

On Tuesday 14th February 'Love your birds' is a chance for families to build a nest box together, and learn how to attract and feed birds in the garden. This fun session at the Healthy Living Centre in Hemyock will inspire a lifetime of enjoying birds and birdsong.

On Friday 17th February Dumpdon Hill near Honiton will be returning to its Iron Age origins, as the team from Escot Education show children how to build a house, make flour, cook on an open fire, turn wood and dress like a true Iron Age villager at our 'Iron Age Experience'.

Both events have limited places and booking is essential. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for under 18s. To book call the Blackdown Hills AONB team on 01823 680681 or email blackdownhills@devon.gov.uk
