Countryside Volunteering Hub Launched

( Last Updated: 12-10-2012 )

A wide rang of organisations are working together to promote countryside volunteering on the Blackdown Hills.

The Blackdown Hills Countryside Volunteering Hub is growing, and will provide a useful forum for volunteer providers and an opportunity to share skills, experiences and knowledge about working with volunteers.

Their first meeting took place in April 2012.   The photograph shows hub members after their gathering, enjoying some Spring sunshine outside the Blackdown Hills Healthy Living Centre.

Blackdown Hills Countryside Volunteering is part of the 'Force for Nature' initiative encouraging more volunteering in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Blackdown Hills Sustainable Development Fund. The project is led by the Blackdown Hills Trust and coordinated by the Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership and the Forestry Commission.
