( Last Updated: 30-03-2016 )

Could you help conserve and enhance the special landscape of the Blackdown Hills?

The Blackdown Hills AONB has a new category of member on its Management Group, the Special Appointee, and is calling for applications.

This is an opportunity to get involved in caring for one of Britain's finest and landscapes and helping to direct its future. You will need to have a love of the countryside and an interest in rural issues, as well as an understanding of the national importance of protected landscapes like the Blackdown Hills.  You will help to provide a strategic lead in the conservation and enhancement of this important area and deliver national and local benefits.

The Blackdown Hills AONB Management Group comprises 21 members: 6 appointed by the local authorities; 1 representative from Natural England; 3 elected parish councillors nominated by the Blackdown Hills Parish Network; 8 representative from Partnership organisations; and 3 Special Appointees. These positions are non-salaried.
