The Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership has launched a new Management Plan that identifies actions needed to keep the Blackdowns special for future generations.
The AONB Management Plan for 2009 - 2014 has been produced by the AONB Partnership on behalf of the six partner local authorities following a review of the 2004 - 2009 Plan and public consultation. It sets out the objectives and policies relevant to conserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the AONB, and recognises that thriving communities and a sustainable economy are vital to the area.
The delivery of the Management Plan is not the responsibility of the AONB Partnership alone - it is a plan for all those who value the area and have an interest in it. The involvement of a wide range of organisations will be essential in achieving the Plan's aims over the next five years.
AONB Partnership Chairman, Cllr Paul Diviani said "The publication of the Management Plan marks just the start of a journey that we will make over the next five years. I pledge our commitment to working with all partners, stakeholders and members of the community in the spirit of the Plan that we have created together."
